All about your Fibre Connection Box

Full Fibre is a next-generation broadband with a dedicated connection that runs straight to your home . If Full Fibre has already been installed previously at your premises then it's really easy to connect your equipment.

To identify if you have Full Fibre you'll see a Fibre Connection box (ONT) on the wall and it will look similar to these . You might not even need an engineer to visit to begin using your new service - if you've been told an engineer isn't needed, use the guides below to set up your new Wi-Fi Hub or eero with your existing Fibre Connection Box.

What affects your Full Fibre Speed

Whenever you do anything online, data is sent over your Full Fibre connection. The rate at which this data is sent is down to your broadband speed, which can be affected by many different factors .

Light	Status	Description
POWER	Off	Your Fibre Connection Box isn't getting any power. Make sure the power supply is plugged into a wall socket and switched on.
	Solid Green (on)	Your Fibre Connection Box is powered on.
	Green Flashing	New firmware is downloading.
	Red	Hardware startup has failed or self test has failed.
PON	Off	Your Fibre Connection Box is not connected to the Full Fibre network. Make sure all cables are securely connected.
	Solid Green	You're connected to the Full Fibre network.
	Flashing Green	Your Fibre Connection Box is trying to connect to the Full Fibre network.
Alarm	Off	The downstream wavelength optical input power is within the operating range and frame loc (sync)-ranged has been achieved.
Alarm	Red (on)	The downstream wavelength optical input power is not within operating range, PON downstream wavelength is not within operating range, or no frame lock (sync)-ranged has been achieved.
DATA	Off	Power is off or Ethernet link is down.
	Solid Green	1G/100M linkup mode.
	Flashing Green	Data activity on 100M or 1G: Fast blinking: 1G Slow blinking: 100M
	Solid Yellow	2.5 Gbps linkup mode.
	Flashing Yellow	Data activity on 2.5 Gbps.
	Solid White	5 Gbps linkup mode.
	Flashing White	Activity on 5 Gbps.
	Solid Blue	10 Gbps linkup mode.
	Flashing Blue	Activity on 10 Gbps.

Light	Status	Description
POWER	Off	Your Fibre Connection Box isn't getting any power. Make sure the power supply is plugged into a wall socket and switched on.
	Flashing Green (slow blink	Your Fibre Connection Box is starting up.
	Solid Green	Your Fibre Connection Box is powered on.
	Solid Red	In start-up mode, red during hardware start-up test. Remains red if the hardware test fails.
	Solid Amber	In start-up mode, turns amber during the software image start test. Remains amber if software test fails.
	Flashing Amber(slow)	Device is performing a local software upgrade, may restart upon completion of upgrade.
	Solid Amber	In start-up mode, turns amber during the software image start test. Remains amber if software test fails.
	Flashing Green/Amber	During a remote TR-069 upgrade, the Power LED blinks amber, then green in one second increments. Repeats until remote upgrade is complete.
BROAD -BAND	Off	Your Fibre Connection Box isn't getting any power. Make sure the power supply is plugged into a wall socket and switched on.
	Solid Green	You're connected to the Full Fibre network.
	Flashing Green (slow)	WAN link has been detected; carrier signal is present. Device in process of ranging and synchronizing to network.
	Solid Red	If carrier is not detected, Broadband LED turns solid red. Optical signal present but no sync due to bit errors, out of range, or no negotiate. Turns red after 2 minutes if no success above. Flashes green during initial 2-minute sync until pass or fail.
SERVICE	Off	Internet connection cannot be established. Check all cables are securely connected.
		Bridged Mode: No Ethernet port has been provisioned
		RG Mode: No IP address received or PPPoE session authentication has occurred.
	Solid Green	Your internet service is up and running.
		OMCI Layer-2 Bridged Mode: At least one Ethernet port has been provisioned
		RG Mode (IPv4 or IPv6): Receive IP address or PPPoE session authenticated with credentials. If IPv4 and/or IPv6 is connected, LED remains solid.
		Mixed Mode: RG mode conditions apply
Ethernet	Off	No Ethernet link established or device connected to port may not be powered.
	Solid Green	Device is connected to the associated port, Ethernet link is up but no Ethernet traffic present.
	Flashing Green	Activity seen from devices associated with the port. Activity of the LED is roughly synchronized to actual ingress data traffic from device to port.
