Missing payments
If you’ve made a payment and it’s not showing on your TalkTalk account yet, don’t worry - in most cases it just needs a little more time to appear.
We’ll help you understand how long payments usually take and what to do next if it’s still missing.
Most payments appear on your account within 24 hours, depending on how you paid.
Some payment types take a little longer to reach us:
- Bank transfers and cash deposits: up to 7 working days
- Cheque payments: up to 5 working days
- Postal orders: up to 5 working days
Before getting in touch, it’s also worth checking whether the payment has been credited to another TalkTalk account, such as a previous account you’ve had with us.
If enough time has passed and you still can’t see your payment, our team can help locate it.
To get things sorted quickly, please have the right details ready based on how you paid.
Paid by credit or debit card:
To help us find your payment, we’ll need:
- The first 6 digits and last 4 digits of the card you used
Paid by bank transfer or cash deposit:
These payments can take up to 7 working days to appear. If it’s still missing after that, we’ll need:
- The account number and sort code the payment was sent to
Paid by cheque:
Cheque payments can take up to 5 working days. If it’s not showing, please have:
- The first line of the address and postcode you sent the cheque to
Paid using a TalkTalk key fob:
If your fob payment isn’t showing, we’ll need:
- Your 19‑digit fob reference number

Paid by postal order:
Postal order payments can take up to 5 working days to appear. If it’s still missing, please have:
- The first line of the address and postcode you sent it to
