Beware of Call Connection services
Some websites list phone numbers that charge you extra to connect to well-known companies like HMRC, DVLA or the RAC.
These calls can cost much more than calling the company directly.
What to watch out for
Call connection numbers often:
- Start with 084, 087 or 09
- Charge high per-minute rates
- Put you in a queue (so costs can quickly add up)
- Connect you to a company you could contact for free or at a lower cost

- Check your bill or official emails for correct contact numbers
