Email Transition FAQs
This FAQ page is for customers that have received communications from TalkTalk about their email service. This includes
- former TalkTalk customers who still have access to free email from us, and
- former TalkTalk customers who have the MailPlus service.
If you have broadband with us, then please visit our page here for email support.
Please be aware that this transition does not affect our current broadband customers or their email service, only email users who no longer have broadband with us. If you are a current TalkTalk broadband customer, you do not need to do anything right now.
Why is my email service being transitioned to Everymail?
To continue delivering the best email service possible, we’ll soon be moving your TalkTalk email to a new home, Everymail, a trusted service from Open-Xchange, the world’s largest independent email provider. They’ve already been working behind the scenes to help keep your email running smoothly, and now they’ll be taking care of it directly.
Why do I have to pay for email now?
We’ve continued to provide your TalkTalk email service free of charge for some time. However, as you’re no longer a TalkTalk broadband customer, we’re unfortunately unable to continue offering it at no cost. Providing a high-quality email service requires ongoing investments in infrastructure, security, and innovation.
The subscription fee enables Everymail to offer advanced features and continuous development to meet your needs, to continue delivering a secure and reliable experience.
Will my email address stay the same?
Your current TalkTalk email address remains the same. There’s no need to update your contacts or change logins, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Will I lose any of my emails, contacts, or other data during the transition?
No, there is no migration needed so your data stays exactly where it is.
What if I don't subscribe by 28th July 2025?
If you haven’t subscribed by 28th July, 2025, you will still be able to access your email, but you won’t be able to send any emails. Be sure to subscribe early to avoid service interruptions.
What happens if I don't subscribe through the email link received by 8th September 2025?
On 8th September, 2025, if you still haven’t subscribed:
- You will no longer be able to log in to your email.
- You will be redirected to the subscription page.
- To transfer to another provider, you must download all your data before this date.
Can I recover my email data if I don't subscribe by 31st October 2025?
No. If you haven’t subscribed by 31st October 2025, your email account will be permanently closed, and all associated data will be deleted. This action is irreversible, so it’s important to act before this deadline.
How do I transfer my data to another provider if I don't want to subscribe?
If you plan to switch to another email provider, make sure to download all your data before 8th September, 2025, when login access will be disabled. You can learn how to download your data here: https://everymail.com/support/downloading-your-personal-data
Can I still subscribe after my account is closed on 31st October 2025?
No. Once your account is closed and data is deleted on 31st October, 2025, you will not be able to recover your account or subscribe. It’s crucial to act before the final deadline.
Does Everymail mine or share my personal data?

I have the MailPlus email service, what is happening to my service?
We are moving your MailPlus service to Everymail. There is no change to your email address or the cost of your service, but you will now be paying your subscription fee to EveryMail, instead of TalkTalk. You'll see Everymail on your bank statement rather than TalkTalk, and your inbox will now be ad-free! You'll also have increased storage, up to 15GB per mailbox from 10GB.
I have the MailPlus email service, do I need to do anything?
If you are paying by Direct Debit, there's nothing for you to do, we're handling the move to Everymail for you and will let you know when it's complete.
If you are paying by Credit or Debit card, you'll be prompted to re-enter your card details when your mailboxes have been transferred to Everymail. These details will be saved so you don't have to enter them again.
Your payment schedule will also continue as normal. See examples below:
Example 1 - You pay monthly, then your last payment to TalkTalk will be in August, your next payment in September will be to Everymail.
Example 2 – You pay yearly and you last paid TalkTalk in July this year, your next payment will then be due in July 2026 and it will be to Everymail.
Please note your bills from the previous 2 years can still be accessed through MyAccount if required.
